Purple Lights

In Alberta, the Purple Lights is a powerful symbol of hope and community action against domestic and family violence. Throughout November, officially known as Family Violence Prevention Month (FVPM), individuals and organizations across the province are encouraged to display purple lights as a visible sign of solidarity with survivors and a commitment to building safer homes.
In Drayton Valley, the campaign has been championed by Pembina Crisis Connection Society (PCCS) for the past three years. This year, the first-ever Purple Lights Gala serves as the official launch of FVPM, inviting the community to come together, shine a light on abuse, and take meaningful steps toward transforming relationships and culture for all.
The light reminds us of those who are suffering, those we’ve lost, and the urgent need to bring awareness, healing, and change to the issue of family violence.

Thank You for Supporting the 2025 Purple Lights Gala
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and supported the 2025 Purple Lights Gala. Your presence helped make it a truly meaningful and successful evening in support of those impacted by family and intimate partner violence.
We’re especially grateful to our dedicated volunteers who made the night possible, and to our incredible emcee, Chris Scheetz, for lending his voice and energy to such an important cause.
Together, we are shining a light on change.
